Medina is a city located in the Hejaz region of Saudi Arabia. It is the second holiest city in Islam after Mecca and is commonly known as the city of the Prophet because it was the final home and resting place of the prophet Muhammad.
Medina is a major pilgrimage site for Muslims and receives millions of visitors every year who come to visit the Prophet's Mosque, which houses his tomb. The city is also home to many other important Islamic sites, including the Quba Mosque, the first mosque ever built in Islam, and the Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, one of the largest mosques in the world.
Apart from its religious significance, Medina is also a center for education and scholarship in Islam, with many Islamic schools and universities located in the city. The city has a rich history and has been a center of political, cultural, and economic activity in the Arabian Peninsula for centuries.
Today, Medina is a modern city with a population of around 1.5 million people. It has a vibrant economy based on religious tourism and industries such as agriculture, oil and gas, and manufacturing.
